To address the lack of practical life skills in traditional education and empower young adults to confidently navigate adulthood.
ByteWize, a gamified learning platform (mobile application) aimed at equipping young adults with necessary practical life skills. The project combines user experience (UX) and user interface (UI) design to address a critical gap in practical life skills education.
Comprehensive user research: Conducted extensive research into the learning preferences of Millennials and Generation-Z, identifying gaps in traditional education and life skills preparedness.
Gamified UX design: Designed an engaging app experience with gamification elements such as leaderboards, streaks, points, and interactive modules to motivate users and enhance learning retention.
Integration: Developed a multi-platform ecosystem, including the ByteWize app, a supportive Discord community, and public interactive installations for hands-on learning.
Iterative design process: Delivered wireframes, low-fidelity prototypes, and high-fidelity designs using tools such as Figma, ensuring a user-centred and iterative approach to app development.
Mobile application: Includes gamification features such as streaks, leaderboards, badges, and interactive quizzes. Features customisable avatars and a simplified interface for seamless navigation. Provides instant access to tutorials and resources on life skills such as budgeting, cooking, and home maintenance.
Discord community: Interactive channels for peer-to-peer learning and mentorship. Role-based access to support users at different learning levels. Integrated bots for moderation, mental health support, and content organisation.
Interactive installations: Real-world activations in public spaces, using oversized props and interactive tasks to gamify practical challenges.
